A big milestone has just been hit by the Cardano Foundation in collaboration with Veritree. The Cardano Forest has hit 1,000,000 verified trees planted.
Some highlights:
- 215,613 tonnes of CO2 to be sequestered during the lifetime of the trees.
- Compares to removing 46,872 cars from the road for one year.
- 100 Hectares reforested which provides 2000 work days to local tree planters.
We donated 5000 trees back in 2021, so it’s great to see this initiative come to fruition. Hopefully we will see another million planted during 2024/25.
Another reason why Cardano is the *most* environmentally friendly blockchain.
