Daedalus 11.0.0
Daedalus 11.0.0 is out, bundling cardano-node 11.0.1 with support for the upcoming Van Rossem (PV11) hard fork. If you manage your ADAvault delegation in Daedalus, update before the fork activates — older versions will desync from the chain at that point. Your stake stays delegated regardless; this is a wallet client update, not a key change, so nothing is at risk. You just won’t see correct balances until you’re on 11.x.
Two practical notes. The version number jumped: Daedalus now tracks the major version of the bundled node, so this follows 8.0.0, with 9 and 10 skipped deliberately. And if you’re coming from an old version, allow a day or two — a full chain replay across a major boundary can take well over a day on a typical laptop. Start it when you don’t need the wallet.
No need to rush the exact day. PV11 needs 85% of stake-by-pool on 11.x before it can activate, so the network has to catch up first. Upgrading now just means the replay happens on your schedule rather than the fork’s. If you stake through Eternl, Lace, Vespr or another CIP-30 wallet, there’s nothing to do — those update themselves.
P.S. IOG also shipped an updated uplc tool that cuts Plutus script execution costs by ~10% on average — scripts across the ecosystem get cheaper as developers redeploy through it. A quiet, useful improvement.
