Nigel Hemsley (Head of Delivery and Projects at IOG) has just shared that there will be a minor delay to the timeline for the Vasil upgrade that will increase transaction speed on the network.
Comprehensive testing by the IOG quality assurance and testing team, has shown a few issues remaining and they have decided to move back the release date by approximately one month. This will allow all issues to be addressed, and will provide sufficient time for partners and exchanges to upgrade to the new release.
A sensible decision. There is no benefit to rushing upgrades to L1 with so many applications now running on Cardano. The pressure in the market is lower at this point in the crypto cycle as well, and it doesn’t make sense to risk an enviable track record for reliability and security for what is a fairly arbitrary date.
