Daedalus v5 released

There is a new version of the Daedalus Full Wallet released. This uses Cardano Node 1.35.3 under the covers so it is ready for the Vasil update on Sept 22nd.

We’ve gone through the upgrade process and it will take a while to run, as the blockchain database structure that is stored locally on your computer will need to be upgraded. If you have another synchronised Cardano node running 1.35.3 you can copy across the local database, but we appreciate this won’t be an option for the large majority of users.

Allow 3-5 hours on a recent i7 with 16GB RAM, more with a lower spec machine.

From the release notes:

Daedalus 5.0.0 Mainnet release supports node version 1.35.3 and is Vasil compatible. This release also fixes the following known issues:

  • Older Daedalus executables that didn’t get deleted after auto update
  • Errors when selecting syncing wallets during delegation/redeem ITN rewards process
  • System using previous amount of tokens to be sent even if user alters the amount during fee calculation

Additionally, this release replaces the darwin-launcher.go process image with cardano-launcher.
